Hydrofracturing  is an effective method of oil recovery improvement.

There are two main types of hydrofracturing: hydrofracturing with fixing of fractures (proppant hydrofracturing); hydrofracturing without fixing of fractures  (acid fracturing).

In carbonate reservoirs apply generally acid fracturing, as for terrigenous reservoirs - hydrofracturing with fixing of fractures .
